October 3rd & 4th, 2020 is an event filled weekend around Boston! Check out some of this weeks #cityhappenings…
As more things start to open and we transition from virtual city happenings, keep in mind that face coverings and social distancing are still required in most places. Text “COVIDMA” to 888-777 for Important Updates
Saturday, October 3rd
• DBCO Oktoberfest – Oktoberfest is certainly looking different this year, but no need to fret. Join Dorchester Brewing Co on Saturday for some Marzen lagers and festive eats served by M&M BBQ. DBCO can’t have a full band, but they will have a live accordion player for some nice ambience. They’re also offering 4-packs of their German lager to-go if you’d rather have your own celebration at home. 🙂
• House of Venus – An underground SoWa gallery curated by Abby Ouellette and Kaylee Hennessey founded with the intent of showcasing young emerging Boston based artists through pop-up exhibitions. Check out their show, The Color of Fruition, inspired by the bright use of color by many of these featured artists.
Sunday, October 4th
• Dogtober – Harpoon welcomes all dog lovers to join this year’s virtual dogtober. Register online to pick up your “wag bag”, which includes beer (for you) and some goodies (for the pup). Virtual contests will follow! All proceeds from the event will go to the Kenary Brain Tumor Research Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the MSPCA, and Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society.
• Beetlejuice at Herter Amphitheather – Head on over to Lower Allston Sunday night for a FREE showing of a spooky classic, Beetlejuice. No reservations are required, however there is a limited capacity set at 50 people. Seating will be arranged in a socially distanced manner. It might be wise to bring a blanket as we roll into the fall weather.
