New Partnership Between Realtor.com and Airbnb

Try Metro Boston Before You Buy Metro Boston

Often the worst part about needing to move from an area you know to an area you don’t is figuring out where you should begin your housing search on the other end. Each year countless people move to metro Boston for reasons ranging from job transfers to schools to retirement, but they don’t know Back Bay from Bay Village. It’s a terrible feeling, but now there’s a new, low commitment solution.

In an interesting new partnership between Realtor.com and Airbnb you can search for sale property listings and get suggestions for nearby Airbnb rentals to “try out” before you buy at the same time. Naturally the Airbnb units aren’t what you’re trying out, it’s their neighborhoods and nearby amenities.

What Do Homebuyers Consider Most When Choosing A Neighborhood?

  • 69% Quality of neighborhood

  • 30% School district
  • 28% Neighborhood design
  • 25% Entertainment and activities
  • 25% Proximity to schools
  • 23% Parks and recreation

Data from the 2014 NAR Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers

What makes this Realtor.com and Airbnb partnership venture even better is right now they’re running a “Try Before You Buy Sweepstakes” where you could win $500 toward your local experience. Check it out. One winner will be chosen each week through August 25, 2015.
